About Systemic Constellation

The method of Systemic Constellation was introduced by German psychotherapist Bert Hellinger. Through this method a situation or an experience can be shown from a different perspective. During the process of the Constellation one can cross boundaries of common understanding and attitude, which gives the space necessary to look at a situation from the outside. Constellations help to reestablish the natural order, which we often break, because it is not conditioned by emotions and restores the balance in any given system.

"Family constellations have offered many surprising insights into the laws of success in human relationships and into the background of health and of a fulfilled life."  Bert Hellinger

The Method

The method of Constellation is done in groups. The participant, whose Constellation is going to be realised, tells to the group (or in special occasions just to the leader of the Constellation) his or her specific circumstances. Then the participant continues by choosing various representatives, under the guidance of the Constellation leader, reflecting his/her specific needs. (The various representatives can stand for people, ideas even inanimate objects.) After the selection the participant positions the representatives intuitively into places and in doing so, establishes the outlook of his/her Constellation. What follows is unique to each case, making the interactions, results and even the duration of the various Constellations unpredictable. During the Constellation the participants remain silent unless instructed otherwise by the leader of the Constellation. Once the Constellation is concluded, the leader of the Constellation may comment or raise questions based on the leader's discretion while the participants are discouraged from discussing or analysing it further so as to allow for a more natural and unbiased understanding.
